Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in ‘Dragon Girl’ Review

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, where have you been all my life?

So a week or two ago I was given a Myer gift card, and as always, I wanted to run into the Myer in the city and buy ALL THE MAKEUP! Myer Sydney City is special as it has a lot of brands that the others don’t. It has Benefit, Illamasqua(!) Kit Cosmetics which has Too Faced and Smashbox amongst others as well as Mecca Cosmetica, which supplies a heap of brands you can’t find anywhere else in Australia, my favourite being Nars. Now I walked around on the Cosmetics floor, not really knowing what I wanted, just that I wanted a new lip product. I have far too much eye shadow currently so I am on a full ban from buying any. (even though I just bought the Naked original palette so I could have the full set. oops.) So on my wanderings on the floor,Β this little baby at Mecca jumped out at me.

I had seen these ‘Velvet Matte Lip Pencils” on a couple of my favourite blogs, and they couldn’t do anything but rave about them so I thought I’d give it a shot. I asked the shop assistant, who was absolutely lovely, which was a good red from the collection of the pencils and she suggested ‘Dragon Girl’ which who would have guessed, was the colour she was wearing! It looked gorgeous so with a big grin on my wittle face I grabbed one and we headed to the register.

As with all Nars products, the packaging is divine. There’s just something so simple and so modern about the design that I adore. Now the actual product, in one word? Incredible. The colour just glides on, and the pencil is ridiculously soft and gentle on the lips. The colour is strong as well, a cool toned red that has a hint of orange in it. I just love it, I look over to my vanity, see it and just smile cause it is so gosh darn beautiful.

Also I’m so sorry for the delay in posting! Uni has been very overwhelming, which I know isn’t an excuse but it’s true. I hope to post more frequently so fingers crossed!

Has there been anything you’ve bought lately that you’re ridiculously happy with? Let me know in the comments!
