Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick

My Aunt went to Hawaii recently, and just so happened to stay in a hotel with Sephora on one side and Macy’s on the other. Needless to say, I got her to get me some makeup.

So I had a little browse on the Sephora Website (ie I procrastinated from doing an assignment and looked at make up for an hour) and fell in love with how cute the Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipsticks were. You cannot get Tarte in Australia, at least not to my knowledge, and I’ve never used their products before. So I thought I would ask for a couple of these.

IMG_0781The colours I asked for were ‘Poppy’ and ‘Watermelon’. From the reviews I read online, they were kind of mixed. A few I read said that they were barely pigmented, and that they felt like a bit of colour instead of a lipstick. But I found the opposite! I found them to be very pigmented and bright.

The packaging is gorgeous, with a different floral design for each lipstick in the collection. However it is made of cardboard instead of a heavy plastic of metal. Which fits in with Tarte’s branding of being eco-friendly, cruelty free and vegan friendly. It might be an issue for others, but I quite like the cardboard. I’m trying to only buy eco-friendly and cruelty free make up from now on, so I will be definitley checking out more of Tarte’s products when I get a chance.

The only thing I can say bad about these lipsticks is that they smell a bit funny, but if thats the worst thing I can find about a product, chances are it’s really good!

I love these lipsticks, and definitely want to try more of Tarte’s products. Their blushes look to die for!
