Wedding Guest Makeup

I had my beautiful cousin’s wedding on the weekend, and while doing my makeup I thought I really should make a post all about Wedding Guest appropriate makeup. I know Cora from Vintage or Tacky has recently made a few videos on Wedding Guest Makeup and Outfits so I recommend those if you want more detail, but these are what I found to be appropriate.

First up, a Wedding is not the time to try new makeup or experiment. This is someones special day, don’t make this about you. It’s all about enhancing your features and keeping it simple and classic. If you want to go for a dark lip, go for it. But make sure it’s appropriate for the type of wedding that is happening. If it’s in the afternoon I would go for what I did; flawless face, classic eyes and lips.

Weddings are a long day for everyone, so primer is a must. I used MAC Strobe Cream and Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer to keep my foundation staying throughout the day and night. I stuck to my favourite Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and dotted Nars Creamy Concealer anywhere I needed a bit more coverage. To contour I used my trusty Benefit Hoola Bronzer and popped Bourjois Blush no. 34 Rose d’Or on my cheeks. I love my highlighter so I used MAC Soft and Gentle to make me glow like the sun and Nars Light Reflecting Setting Powder on top of everything so that shit would not move.

For my eyes I used my new favourite neutral palette, Nars And God Created Woman 2. This palette came with a mini of the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base so I used that all over before applying any eyeshadow so no colours would move around when I started boogie-ing on the d-floor. I then used lashings of Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid eye liner as this stuff does not move at all. I also used my new favourite mascara Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara as well as some false lashes I got from Model Rock at IMATS. For my brows I used my usual combo of E.L.F Eyebrow Kit and Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep.

Finally for lips, I went for a dusty rosy pink type of colour, my YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in no. 9. It’s a simple, super moisturising lipstick that I could easily reapply during the night.

And that is the finished look! Let me know what you think! It was the first time I had worn false lashes and my goodness it felt like my eyes had wings!

Much Love,

Cassie
