As much as I love makeup, I’m not a full coverage girl. It’s just me and what I prefer. I’ve never liked the feel of full coverage, and I never felt like it suited my skin when I wore it. I like good coverage but I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing a mask. Enter YSL Fusion Ink Foundation.
YSL Fusion Ink Foundation or Le Teint Encre De Peau in French, is their weightless full coverage foundation. It is definitely a new trend of foundations, for a light weight foundation to pack a punch coverage wise. Think NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation. The YSL version of this is certainly my favourite.
The tagline for the foundation is that it feels like a feather, but wears like ink. I was told of the story at the launch of the foundation in Paris, where the artists wrote ‘YSL’ in the foundation on the back of the guest’s hands. They then walked around with it wearing like an ink on the back of the hand, and never wiping off! Sounds like my type of foundation!
It has a semi-matte finish on my skin, leaving it looking radiant but not sweaty at all. The colour is perfect for me, as is the stunning packaging.
I’m a big fan of this foundation for days where I know I’ll be out of the house all day, it’s my most long wearing foundation in my collection. And as a YSL Lover, I adore the smell of this foundation as well! Everything YSL smells so delicious and luxurious.
Of course, with everything YSL there is a hefty price tag. But for the amount I use to cover my face flawlessly, I think it was worth the money. A little bit goes a long way!
